This program is open to students in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) who have just completed their Grade 11 year. Students will be paid to work for six weeks as a research assistant in a science or engineering university research laboratory. During that period students will have the chance to:
- Gain unique first-hand research experience that may encourage them to pursue diverse career opportunities
- Gain exposure to university environment, research groups, technical laboratories and latest research tools.
- Learn about the different fields of study in engineering and science
- Gain research experience from direct interaction with graduate students and collaboration with other research assistants
- Develop analytical, problem solving, and technical writing skills
- Develop teamwork, communication, and presentation skills which will be beneficial in post secondary studes
